Nebo\u0165 Jahve, n\u00e1\u0161 P\u00e1n (vidouce, \u017ee jeho Sabat se kvapem bl\u00ed\u017e\u00ed, pochopiteln\u011b sp\u011bch\u00e1, neb jeho \u010das \u010di doba se bl\u00ed\u017e\u00ed k prvn\u00edmu po\u010d\u00e1tku) obr\u00e1til chod P\u0159\u00edrody a v\u0161e, co bylo a\u017e dosud s velikou n\u00e1mahou a v ka\u017edodenn\u00edm potu tv\u00e1\u0159e hled\u00e1no, jest nyn\u00ed vyjeveno t\u011bm, kdo jen m\u00e1lo p\u0159isp\u011bli nebo o t\u011bch v\u011bcech sotva p\u0159em\u00fd\u0161leli; av\u0161ak t\u011bm, kdo o pozn\u00e1n\u00ed st\u00e1li, je nyn\u00ed plnou v\u00e1hou p\u0159ed\u00e1no, aby byl \u017eivot t\u011bch, kdo si to zaslou\u017e\u00ed, zbaven d\u0159iny a vy\u010derp\u00e1vaj\u00edc\u00ed n\u00e1mahy, a aby nad\u00e1le nebyli otroky nest\u00e1l\u00e9 Fortuny; av\u0161ak \u0161patnost nehodn\u00fdch a nezaslou\u017eil\u00fdch byla potrest\u00e1na trestem p\u0159\u00edsn\u00fdm a mnohon\u00e1sobn\u00fdm.<br \/>\nA\u010dkoli nem\u016f\u017eeme b\u00fdt ani v nejmen\u0161\u00edm vin\u011bni z kac\u00ed\u0159stv\u00ed neb z jak\u00fdchsi \u0161patn\u00fdch po\u010d\u00e1tk\u016f \u010di \u00faklad\u016f proti sv\u011btsk\u00e9 vl\u00e1d\u011b, odsuzujeme V\u00fdchod i Z\u00e1pad (to jest Pape\u017ee i Mohameda) jako provinilce proti v\u016fli na\u0161eho P\u00e1na Je\u017e\u00ed\u0161e Krista a v dobr\u00e9 v\u016fli nab\u00edz\u00edme vl\u00e1dc\u016fm \u0158\u00edmsk\u00e9 \u0159\u00ed\u0161e na\u0161e modlitby, tajemstv\u00ed a velik\u00e9 poklady ryz\u00edho zlata.<br \/>\nShledali jsme ov\u0161em spr\u00e1vn\u00fdm a prosp\u011b\u0161n\u00fdm v\u011bci u\u010den\u00e9 roz\u0161\u00ed\u0159iti na\u0161i promluvou a p\u0159ij\u00edt s lep\u0161\u00edm vysv\u011btlen\u00edm v\u0161eho, co z\u016fst\u00e1v\u00e1 skryto, nepochopeno \u010di jinak zatemn\u011bno na na\u0161\u00ed Fam\u011b, p\u0159\u00edpadn\u011b bylo z r\u016fzn\u00fdch d\u016fvod\u016f n\u00e1mi zcela opomenuto a vynech\u00e1no; douf\u00e1me t\u00edmto, \u017ee k n\u00e1m u\u010den\u00ed mnohem v\u00edce p\u0159ilnou a p\u0159iklon\u00ed se k na\u0161im z\u00e1m\u011br\u016fm.<br \/>\nCo se t\u00fd\u010de na\u0161ich zm\u011bn a dodatk\u016f k Filosofii, ji\u017e jsme (v t\u00e9 m\u00ed\u0159e, v jak\u00e9 to bylo zapot\u0159eb\u00ed) jasn\u011b prohl\u00e1sili, \u017ee tato je dnes vcelku slab\u00e1 a chybn\u00e1; nepochybujeme v\u0161ak, p\u0159esto\u017ee mnoz\u00ed chybn\u011b tvrd\u00ed (nezn\u00e1mo pro\u010d), \u017ee je rozumn\u00e1 a pevn\u00e1, \u017ee ve skute\u010dnosti zanik\u00e1 a zoufale lap\u00e1 po dechu.<br \/>\nJest v\u0161ak b\u011b\u017en\u00e9, \u017ee pr\u00e1v\u011b v zemi \u010di v m\u00edst\u011b, kde propukne nov\u00e1 a neobvykl\u00e1 choroba, P\u0159\u00edroda sou\u010dasn\u011b objev\u00ed medic\u00ednu proti t\u00e9\u017e; a takto se na nes\u010detn\u00e9 chyby Filosofie najdou l\u00e9\u010debn\u00e9 prost\u0159edky, je\u017e jsou na\u0161\u00ed Patria nab\u00edzeny v m\u00ed\u0159e dosta\u010duj\u00edc\u00ed, aby op\u011bt za\u010dala platit, a jsou pro n\u00e1s v\u00fdznamn\u00e9 a zcela nov\u00e9.<br \/>\nNem\u00e1me jin\u00e9 Filosofie ne\u017e t\u00e9, je\u017e je hlavou a sou\u010dtem, z\u00e1kladem v\u0161ech schopnost\u00ed, v\u011bd a um\u011bn\u00ed, t\u011bch kter\u00e9 (m\u00e1me-li b\u00fdt v\u011brni na\u0161\u00ed dob\u011b) obsahuj\u00ed mnoho Teologie a medic\u00edny, zato v\u0161ak m\u00e1lo moudrosti a z\u00e1kona a usilovn\u011b p\u00e1traj\u00ed po nebes\u00edch i zemi: jin\u00fdmi slovy, sta\u010d\u00ed jestli\u017ee \u0159ekneme, \u017ee dostate\u010dn\u00e9 vysv\u011btluje a objas\u0148uje \u010clov\u011bka, v n\u011bm\u017e v\u0161ichni u\u010denci, kte\u0159\u00ed se n\u00e1m ohl\u00e1s\u00ed a vstoup\u00ed do na\u0161eho bratrstva, naleznou v\u00edce skv\u011bl\u00fdch tajemstv\u00ed, ne\u017e kolik dosud poznali nebo doufali nebo si troufali h\u00e1dat.<br \/>\nM\u00e1me-li tedy nyn\u00ed ozn\u00e1mit na\u0161e c\u00edle, mus\u00edme se usilovn\u011b sna\u017eit, aby podivenstv\u00ed nezapl\u0148ovalo toliko na\u0161e sch\u016fzky a shrom\u00e1\u017ed\u011bn\u00ed, ale aby i v\u0161ichni ostatn\u00ed v\u011bd\u011bli, \u017ee i kdy\u017e na\u0161e tajemstv\u00ed a mysteria nebereme na lehkou v\u00e1hu, pokl\u00e1d\u00e1me za spr\u00e1vn\u00e9, aby byly prozrazeny a uk\u00e1z\u00e1ny mnoh\u00fdm.<br \/>\nJest n\u00e1m toti\u017e v\u011b\u0159it a jest ps\u00e1no, \u017ee na\u0161e ne\u010dekan\u00e1 rozhodn\u00e1 nab\u00eddka vyvol\u00e1 v mnoha mu\u017e\u00edch rozli\u010dn\u00e9 a mnoh\u00e9 my\u0161lenky, a to v t\u011bch, kdo jsou (dosud) Miranda sexta aetatis, jako\u017e i v t\u011bch, kdo z d\u016fvod\u016f dan\u00fdch v b\u011bhu sv\u011bta p\u0159edpokl\u00e1daj\u00ed, \u017ee v\u011bci budouc\u00ed se neodli\u0161\u00ed od v\u011bc\u00ed sou\u010dasn\u00fdch, nebo p\u0159ed sebou c\u00edt\u00ed n\u00e1strahy na\u0161eho \u010dasu, tak\u017ee ve sv\u011bt\u011b ne\u017eij\u00ed jinak ne\u017e slep\u00ed hlup\u00e1ci, kte\u0159\u00ed ani za jasn\u00e9ho slune\u010dn\u00edho dne nerozpoznaj\u00ed nic, leda snad hmatem.<br \/>\nNa prvn\u00edm m\u00edst\u011b tvrd\u00edme, \u017ee ve\u0161ker\u00e1 rozvaha, pozn\u00e1n\u00ed a n\u00e1lezy na\u0161eho miluj\u00edc\u00edho otce Christiana (nebo\u0165 jest v\u0161echna, j\u00ed\u017e lidsk\u00e1 moudrost od po\u010d\u00e1tku sv\u011bta Bo\u017esk\u00fdm vnuknut\u00edm, slu\u017ebami and\u011bl\u016f a duch\u016f nebo ostrost\u00ed a hloubkou porozum\u011bn\u00ed, jako\u017e i dlouh\u00fdm pozorov\u00e1n\u00edm, u\u017e\u00edv\u00e1n\u00edm a zkou\u0161en\u00edm na\u0161la, objevila, zdokonalila, opravila a a\u017e doposud \u0161\u00ed\u0159ila a rozs\u00e9vala) je tak vynikaj\u00edc\u00ed, bohat\u00e1 a skv\u011bl\u00e1, \u017ee kdyby i v\u0161echny ostatn\u00ed lidsk\u00e9 knihy zanikly a kdyby v\u0161emohouc\u00ed B\u016fh dopustil, aby se ztratily v\u0161echny u\u010den\u00e9 spisy, budoucnost by z n\u00ed dok\u00e1zala vystav\u011bti nov\u00e9 z\u00e1klady a op\u011bt nal\u00e9zti sv\u011btlo a pravdu; co\u017e by ostatn\u011b nebylo tak t\u011b\u017ek\u00e9, jako je rozb\u00edjet a strh\u00e1vat v\u0161echny zch\u00e1tral\u00e9 stavby a roz\u0161\u00ed\u0159it n\u00e1dvo\u0159\u00ed a vn\u00e9st tak sv\u011btlo do lod\u017ei\u00ed, jako\u017e i zm\u011bnit dle na\u0161ich z\u00e1m\u011br\u016f dve\u0159e, schodi\u0161t\u011b a dal\u0161\u00ed \u010d\u00e1sti.<br \/>\nKdo by v\u0161ak s \u010d\u00edmsi takov\u00fdm nesouhlasil a p\u0159\u00e1l si, aby pravdu nepoznali v\u0161ichni, n\u00fdbr\u017e by byla uchov\u00e1v\u00e1na a st\u0159e\u017eena do chv\u00edle, kdy nastane jej\u00ed \u010das?<br \/>\nCo\u017epak bychom nem\u011bli z cel\u00fdch srdc\u00ed pevn\u011b st\u00e1t a z\u016fst\u00e1vat v jedin\u00e9 pravd\u011b (kterou lid\u00e9 hledaj\u00ed tolika hloup\u00fdmi a chybn\u00fdmi zp\u016fsoby), jestli\u017ee se B\u016fh byl rozhodl rozsv\u00edtit pro n\u00e1s \u0161est\u00e9 Candelabrium? Co\u017epak by bylo b\u00fdvalo spr\u00e1vn\u00e9, kdybychom nepoci\u0165ovali starost a neb\u00e1li se hladu, chudoby, chorob a st\u00e1\u0159\u00ed?<br \/>\nNebylo by snad spr\u00e1vn\u00e9, kdyby n\u00e1m bylo d\u00e1no \u017e\u00edti tak, jako jsme \u017eili od po\u010d\u00e1tku sv\u011bta a jak n\u00e1m i jest \u017e\u00edti na jeho konci? Co\u017e by nebylo skv\u011bl\u00e9, kdyby \u010dlov\u011bk \u017eil na jednom m\u00edst\u011b, a p\u0159eci by p\u0159ed n\u00edm nic neukryli ani lid\u00e9, kte\u0159\u00ed \u017eij\u00ed v Indi\u00edch za \u0159ekou Gangou, a dokonce ani obyvatel\u00e9 Peru by p\u0159ed n\u00edm netajili sv\u00e9 znalosti?<br \/>\nCo\u017epak by nebylo spr\u00e1vn\u00e9, kdyby sta\u010dilo \u010d\u00edst v jedin\u00e9 knize, z jej\u00ed\u017e \u010detby by \u010dlov\u011bk pochopil a zapamatoval si v\u0161e, co ve v\u0161ech ostatn\u00edch knih\u00e1ch (to jest ve v\u0161ech, je\u017e byly, jsou a budou) stoj\u00ed ps\u00e1no, p\u00ed\u0161e se a v budoucnu naps\u00e1no bude?<br \/>\n\u00d3 vy, lid\u00e9, bo\u017esk\u00fd z\u00e1m\u011br jest zcela jin\u00fd, nebo\u0165 On se rozhodl roz\u0161\u00ed\u0159it a zv\u011bt\u0161it \u010detnost na\u0161eho Bratrstva, a my se na jeho z\u00e1m\u011bru s radost\u00ed pod\u00edl\u00edme, nebo\u0165 jsme v\u0161echny jeho poklady z\u00edskali, ani\u017e bychom se o n\u011b zaslou\u017eili, a ani\u017e po nich tou\u017eili, a tou\u017e\u00edme ve v\u00ed\u0159e v N\u011bj uskute\u010d\u0148ovat Jeho z\u00e1m\u011br, od n\u011bj\u017e n\u00e1s nem\u016f\u017ee odl\u00e1kat ani soucit, ani starost o na\u0161e d\u011bti (n\u011bkte\u0159\u00ed z Brat\u0159\u00ed je maj\u00ed), nebo\u0165 v\u00edme, \u017ee ony ne\u010dekan\u00e9 dary nemohou b\u00fdt ani zd\u011bd\u011bny, ani z\u00edsk\u00e1ny n\u00e1hodou.<br \/>\nJestli\u017ee by se na\u0161el n\u011bkdo, kdo by odm\u00edtal na\u0161e vystoupen\u00ed a vyt\u00fdkal n\u00e1m, \u017ee sv\u00e9 poklady nab\u00edz\u00edme tak voln\u011b a bez rozd\u00edlu v\u0161emu lidstvu, ani\u017e bychom up\u0159ednost\u0148ovali v\u00e1\u017een\u00e9, dobr\u00e9, u\u010den\u00e9, moudr\u00e9 a urozen\u00e9 osoby p\u0159ed prost\u00fdm lidem; jemu bychom nebyli odporovali, nebo\u0165 si jsme v\u011bdomi, \u017ee se nejedn\u00e1 o rozhodnut\u00ed snadn\u00e9 a hladk\u00e9; le\u010d t\u0159eba nato poznamenati, \u017ee na\u0161e Arcana \u010dili tajemstv\u00ed nebudou nikdy b\u011b\u017en\u00e1 \u010di obecn\u011b zn\u00e1m\u00e1. A\u010d byla Fama vyd\u00e1na v p\u011bti jazyc\u00edch a je p\u0159\u00edstupn\u00e1 ka\u017ed\u00e9mu, my p\u0159\u00edli\u0161 dob\u0159e v\u00edme, \u017ee lid\u00e9 neu\u010den\u00ed \u010di hloup\u00e9ho vtipu z n\u00ed nevy\u010dtou tot\u00e9\u017e; jako\u017e ani z\u00e1sluhy t\u011bch, kdo mohou b\u00fdti p\u0159ijati do na\u0161eho bratrstva, nebudou oce\u0148ov\u00e1ny a pozn\u00e1v\u00e1ny nedokonalou lidskou \u00favahou, ale Z\u00e1konem na\u0161eho Zjeven\u00ed a Objeven\u00ed. Jestli\u017ee by tud\u00ed\u017e nehodn\u00ed tis\u00edckr\u00e1t volali a prosili, a kdyby se n\u00e1m tis\u00edckr\u00e1t nab\u00edzeli, B\u016fh bude porou\u010det na\u0161emu sluchu a my jejich k\u0159ik neosly\u0161\u00edme: ne\u017e B\u016fh n\u00e1s tak \u0159\u00edd\u00ed ze sv\u00fdch v\u00fd\u0161in, \u017ee n\u00e1m, jeho slu\u017eebn\u00edk\u016fm, nesm\u00ed b\u00fdt u\u010din\u011bno \u017e\u00e1dn\u00e9 zlo \u010di n\u00e1sil\u00ed; nem\u016f\u017ee n\u00e1s tud\u00ed\u017e uvid\u011bt ni pat\u0159it nikdo, leda\u017ee by m\u011bl o\u010di orla. Fama musela b\u00fdt seps\u00e1na ve v\u0161ech jazyc\u00edch, aby jej\u00ed pozn\u00e1n\u00ed nebylo odep\u0159eno nikomu z on\u011bch, kter\u00e9 (i kdyby nebyli u\u010den\u00ed) B\u016fh nevylou\u010dil ze \u0161t\u011bst\u00ed v na\u0161em Bratrstvu, je\u017e bude rozd\u011bleno a rozejde se do r\u016fzn\u00fdch stran; tak jako obyvatel\u00e9 m\u011bsta Damacar,1 je\u017e se politick\u00fdm uspo\u0159\u00e1d\u00e1n\u00edm zcela odli\u0161uj\u00ed od ostatn\u00edch Arab\u016f. Nebo\u0165 jim vl\u00e1dnou pouze moud\u0159\u00ed a znal\u00ed mu\u017eov\u00e9, kte\u0159\u00ed s kr\u00e1lov\u00fdm svolen\u00edm sepisuj\u00ed z\u00e1kony; podle p\u0159\u00edkladu toho m\u011bly by b\u00fdt uspo\u0159\u00e1d\u00e1ny i vl\u00e1dy v Evrop\u011b (popis jejich vl\u00e1dy v na\u0161em dr\u017een\u00ed vypracoval n\u00e1\u0161 Otec Christian), kde prvn\u00ed skon\u010dilo a uvoln\u00ed cestu onomu, kter\u00e9 p\u0159ijde. V tu dobu bude na\u0161e polnice zn\u00edt hlasit\u00fdmi t\u00f3ny a velik\u00fdm zvukem, a\u017e tot\u00e9\u017e (je\u017e jest dnes zn\u00e1mo pouze hrstce a jako tajemstv\u00ed a v\u011bc, je\u017e teprve p\u0159ijde, jest vyobrazeno ve vzorc\u00edch a obrazech) bude ve\u0159ejn\u011b a nahlas ozn\u00e1meno a cel\u00fd sv\u011bt t\u00edm bude vypln\u011bn. To v\u00edme a v\u011bd\u00ed to i mnoz\u00ed moud\u0159\u00ed mu\u017eov\u00e9 v N\u011bmecku, o \u010dem\u017e sv\u011bd\u010d\u00ed jejich spisy i jejich tajn\u00e1 radost.<br \/>\nM\u016f\u017eeme zde prohl\u00e1sit a ozn\u00e1mit, \u017ee m\u016f\u017eeme p\u0159ipomenout v\u0161e, co se ud\u00e1lo po cel\u00fd \u010das od l\u00e9ta P\u00e1n\u011b 1378 (kdy se narodil n\u00e1\u0161 otec Christian) a\u017e dosud, zn\u00e1me v\u0161echny zm\u011bny, k nim\u017e do\u0161lo b\u011bhem sto a jednoho roku jeho \u017eivota, kter\u00e9 zanechal n\u00e1m, jeho poz\u016fstal\u00fdm brat\u0159\u00edm, abychom je prozkoumali. Le\u010d stru\u010dnost, o n\u00ed\u017e usilujeme, n\u00e1m nedovoluje toto opakov\u00e1n\u00ed, kter\u00e9\u017eto ponech\u00e1v\u00e1me na vhodn\u011bj\u0161\u00ed \u010das. V tuto chv\u00edli sta\u010d\u00ed, \u017ee se ti, kter\u00e9 na\u0161e prohl\u00e1\u0161en\u00ed nepohor\u0161ilo, jen kr\u00e1tce sezn\u00e1mili s jeho obsahem, na\u010de\u017e se mohou t\u011b\u0161it na sezn\u00e1men\u00ed s n\u00e1mi a na\u0161e p\u0159\u00e1telstv\u00ed.<br \/>\nAv\u0161ak ten, komu je umo\u017en\u011bno spat\u0159it a kdo m\u016f\u017ee \u010d\u00edst pokyny, je\u017e B\u016fh velk\u00fdmi p\u00edsmeny a znamen\u00edmi vepsal do tv\u00e1\u0159e zem\u011b a nebes zm\u011bnami vl\u00e1d, kter\u00e9 se z \u010dasu na \u010das obm\u011b\u0148uj\u00ed a obnovuj\u00ed, ten ji\u017e jest (a\u010d to mo\u017en\u00e1 s\u00e1m nev\u00ed) jedn\u00edm z n\u00e1s. A n\u00e1m jest zn\u00e1mo, \u017ee neopovrhne na\u0161im zvol\u00e1n\u00edm a v\u00fdzvou, nebo\u0165 se nemus\u00ed ob\u00e1vat klamu, nebo\u0165 my slibujeme a otev\u0159en\u011b \u0159\u00edk\u00e1me, \u017ee nikdo nebude zklam\u00e1n svou pravov\u011brnost\u00ed a up\u0159\u00edmnost\u00ed, jestli\u017ee se n\u00e1m d\u00e1 poznat pod rou\u0161kou utajen\u00ed, nebo\u0165 zatou\u017e\u00ed po na\u0161em Bratrstvu.<br \/>\nAv\u0161ak fale\u0161n\u00fdm pokrytc\u016fm a v\u0161em, kdo hledaj\u00ed cosi jin\u00e9ho ne\u017e moudrost, t\u011bm se, jak zde ve\u0159ejn\u011b a p\u0159ede sv\u011bdky oznamujeme, ned\u00e1me poznat, a oni n\u00e1s tud\u00ed\u017e nemohou vyzradit; jako\u017e n\u00e1m nebudou schopni \u017e\u00e1dn\u00fdm zp\u016fsobem proti v\u016fli Bo\u017e\u00ed ubl\u00ed\u017eit; a naopak je stihnou v\u0161echny tresty popsan\u00e9 v \u0159e\u010den\u00e9 Fama; nech\u0165 jim tedy rozsv\u00edt\u00ed jejich zka\u017een\u00ed r\u00e1dci, a na\u0161e poklady z\u016fstanou nedot\u010den\u00e9 a neporu\u0161en\u00e9, dokud nenastane \u010das Lva, kter\u00fd je vyu\u017eije pro sv\u00e9 pot\u0159eby a zam\u011bstn\u00e1 k upevn\u011bn\u00ed a pos\u00edlen\u00ed sv\u00e9ho kr\u00e1lovstv\u00ed.
